Why Listen to Wisdom? – Proverbs 8

Why Listen to Wisdom? – Proverbs 8

Proverbs 8:1-5 (KJV)  1Doth not wisdom cry? and understanding put forth her voice? She standeth in the top of high places, by the way in the places of the paths. She crieth at the gates, at the entry of the city, at the coming in at the doors. Unto you, O men, I call; and my voice is to the sons of man. O ye simple, understand wisdom: and, ye fools, be ye of an understanding heart.”

Hear the voice, call, and cry of wisdom! God’s divine wisdom is Jesus Christ. Wisdom is crying out to be heard. The Lord Jesus Christ is calling out for sinners to be saved and turn from their sins!

God calls the simple. He is not after the intellectual. He calls to the simple come and hear. The call of wisdom is not to be pondered, but to be accepted. If it is accepted, it will change your heart.

We are in a world of many voices calling out. The voices of the rich and famous have been heard and sought by many. Why listen to wisdom above all these other voices? Wisdom is truth. If you listen to the call of wisdom, you can be a simple person made wise. Wisdom will not mislead you as other voices in life have misled you. There is nothing wisdom can be compared it. You would be wise if you listened and obeyed the cry of wisdom!
